The world generally and Nigeria in particular has been clamouring for youth participation in politics and governance and the discuss has been on and on, yet to harmonise in what manner and in what direction as the call as led to several youth bodies and young men and women showing forth for the No 1 man seat in the country. This has called for more engagement and enlightenment on the subject matter as youth which amounts to about 85% of the populace are either only busy behind their computers and their gadgets or all going in various directions which would further lead to disunity and discord amongst the youths that are expected to lead the nation.
The call is already yielding results anyway as more youths are now found around government offices, holding positions as Special Assistant to the Governor, Councillors, Council Chairmen, Members, House of Assemblies and the most recent is the Deputy Governorship candidate for Ondo state, Mr Deji Ogunsakin, a 39 year old young man who will be running with the current deputy Governor at 49years.
The event is billed to host over 5,000 youths from across the South Western States with thought leaders, influencers and political activists from across the region discussing on the activities and experiences so far.
